Title: Kismat Love Paisa Dilli
Starring: Vivek Oberoi, Mallika Sherawat and Ashutosh Rana
Director: Sanjay M Khanduri
Rating: ★★★★☆
Are
all those rare things to be altogether! , but how an easy going Delhi guy, made
it all in sync, forms the stuff of
the comic thriller- “Kismat Love Paisa Dilli”.
Company fame Vivek Oberoi has made
the lead appearance in this Sanjay Khanduri directed flick along with the Razia sensation, Mallika Sherawat. Neha Dhupia and Ashutosh Rana too have made
substantial appearances and comedy.
Set yourself for 3 hours into the adventurous nocturnal hours of Delhi, with a happy-go-lucky flirty DU guy, Lokesh Duggal (played by Vivek Oberoi) and fashionista, Lovina (played by Mallika Sherawat).
After the widely acclaimed
directorial debut of Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local (Lion’s Best Debutant Director
Award and the Silver Palm Award for Excellence in Cinema), this time Sanjay
Khanduri has something immense for all his audiences. In a nutshell, Lokesh
Duggal meets his ladylove, Lovina twice, once in a fashion show and second
strolling around (looking out for help for appropriately, as she missed her Last
Metro!) in the midnight hour’s Delhi road. The topsy-turvy situation arises
when our cozy guy is overrun by a gang of goons, followed by policemen, quite
adventurous for a mainstream guy. Isn’t it?
This flick well represents the
pulsating brainwaves of Sanjay Khanduri, as a director, and his cinematographic
skills by graphing a night out’s adventure into a 3 hour comedy thriller film.
It’s not the same love story of a guy and a girl meeting at a party and
partying after few meets. Nor is it about a long striving Bollywood hero
waiting a decade for his love. It’s quite different than the normal love clips,
giving us a message that when it is
predestined, it will be and it has to be, no matter how adverse may be the
situation.
Lokesh Duggal on his part time
night job at a fashion show meets Lovina, the anchor. Cupids strike out in the
first meet only. With a plan to propose his darling, Lokesh runs to the metro
station. In this bustling crowd and hotch- potch clumsiness, (inevitable for an
Indian crowd) lies the saddle point of the movie. A video tape is placed in the
waist coat of Lokesh. And adding more to the suspense, it’s all about a
ministerial sting operation. The NGO who made the video and the goons of the
ministers who were hired to destroy it were having a hustle-bustle in the Delhi
metro station. And poor Lokesh, being unable to know the conspiracy, missed his
love for a while. In that entire crowd he lost her trace!
And what more? He was chased by
policemen and while running for his life he again met his LIFE! (Love if Life,
many claim it. Right?) Finally the love birds meet each other and start their
journey hunting for a cab and witnessing the quirky night elements, petite
robberies, lavish Indian engagement of Sardars (not to miss out the Sangeet and
Dance part), drink smitten guys and sincere cops. They enjoyed the colorful
vibrant Delhi night roads without much aware to the conspiracy attached to
them. The dawn marked another happening for Lokesh, either to kill self, else
kill his conscious. Medially present within the Minister and an NGO, Lokesh
sells himself for a bigger price, initially. (You can well imagine whose price
is always the bigger!). But the aftermath series of events picturing a
permutated Lokesh forms the climax of this comic thriller.

Much of the script is devoted towards this happy going flirty guy, Lokesh. Sanjay Khanduri along with the talented pairs Vivek-Mallika, have done a great job indeed. The music, the choreography and the sensuous dialogues are sure to lure every genre of audience, specially the college going bunch.
The goons Kaptaan (played by
Ashutosh Rana) and the confusing character, Aarti (Neha Dhupia) are not to be
missed out. The flinch of comedy they give out makes this movie a bit crispier!
The Haryanvi accent along with tapori adjectives can make you non stop laugh to
your fullest.
It’s quite contemporary to the
debut direction of Khanduri. The previous one was an Ek Chaalis ki missing train, and this one’s a Gyarah Chaalis ki missing metro. Watch out the runners up
directions of Sanjay Khanduri and if you are really comedy starved, this can be
too much appetizing to you.
Tip off- Kismat Love Paisa Dilli
is loaded with lewd jokes and raunchy comments. More hyper is also being
created about the acronym. If you are a true movie critic, then kindly abstain
yourself from such remarks and acknowledge an acronym as an acronym only.
